Happy New Year to all our readers! We wish you good health and happiness in the coming year. At this time of year, many of us make plans and resolutions. Similarly, at ABS, we map out our year and beyond.
Last month we purchased a 48,000 square foot office building as part of our expansion. We are in the process of designing and converting much of the building into laboratory space. It will include several large cell culture laboratories, a cell quarantine area, biospecimen and cell processing laboratories, large liquid nitrogen and -80°C freezer storage rooms, and labs for cell culture QC, molecular biology, IHC and histology, flow cytometry and cell sorting. We plan on moving into this new headquarters in late Fall of this year.
Our new space will improve workflows as we expand so that we can continue to rapidly deliver high quality custom products and services to our clients. We will also retain our current facility primarily for expanded long term biological sample storage to meet the increasing number of requests from our clients.
In the first quarter of 2022, we are adding flow cytometry and cell sorting capabilities. These will enable improved cell and antibody analyses. The capacity to sort cells significantly augments our cell line development and primary cell culture efforts. In addition to our other cell line development capabilities, ABS is also offering CRISPR gene editing services. We will discuss these new and enhanced services in future postings and emails.
