The true value of working with another company is realized when an effective partnership is created. This is especially the case when working with a research services provider such as ABS where consultation, collaboration, and customization are essential.
Consultation
The first step in any successful research partnership is consultation. This is where we take the time to understand your needs and specifications. We don't try to sell you an off-the-shelf product or solution to meet your unique challenges. We make sure that our services are a good fit for your specific project. If they're not, we'll let you know and not waste your time.
Collaboration Once we understand your needs, we can start to collaborate on how we can meet your timelines and help make your project a success. This is where our over three decades of research experience and expertise come in. We work with you to develop a plan that meets your specific requirements.
Customization Cutting-edge research requires far more than a catalogue list of standard items. This is where ABS provides advantages over catalogue companies. We can customize our services to meet your specific needs, no matter how complex.
ABS provides, prepares, analyzes, and securely stores the biological materials that are the foundation of biomedical research. That is what we do for you so that you can focus on discovery. Our primary goal is to forge a partnership where ABS is an extension of your laboratories, freeing your time and resources. The following examples offer a glimpse at what this looks like.
Examples of ABS Customized Services
- We helped a major pharma client by growing hundreds of billions of genetically engineered cells and providing hundreds of grams of purified cell membranes. Working with our client, we developed a membrane preparation protocol that optimized their receptor binding assays. Without this collaboration, their project would have missed critical deadlines.
- We manage pre-clinical cell culture services for another top five pharma client: growing cells, QC'ing them, banking them, keeping them inventoried, and supplying them in ready to use vials. This frees their scientists to focus on their research, and it ensures that their projects are never delayed.
- The same company needed 150 oncology cell lines to be grown simultaneously at the same growth stage with some cells cryopreserved in 96-well plates, some frozen for genetic analyses, some delivered fresh to measure the expression of 14 cell surface markers by flow cytometry, and other sent to a CRO for mass spec analyses. Even for a large pharma, this was a very difficult project to fulfill and manage logistics. ABS completed it on time so that their research projects could proceed.
- Another large pharma required 400 highly characterized (sample size, percent tumor, age, and other detailed specifications) formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) blocks from a specific cancer type along with pathology and other data from four specific geographic regions on a tight timeline. ABS met all requirements and delivered on time.
- ABS helped a growing biotech company that was having problems with lost and misplaced samples. We went to their site, set up their inventory system, organized their samples, and stored backup samples at ABS for safe keeping. This saved them substantial time and resources so that they could focus on their core mission.
