Several months back, Dr. Saller wrote an article about our processes. To further expand on this topic, I want to discuss our Quality Management System and why we are certified to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
What does it mean to be certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)? There are a few different certifications an organization can earn with ISO, but the ISO 9001:2015 designation represents a Quality Management System. The idea of this standard is that an organization meets guidelines to ensure we are always keeping our client’s best interest in mind. We are the cheerleader for our client.
We are required to assess and manage risks, carefully plan for changes, and manage and prioritize business opportunities. Another huge part of our quality management system is case support management. Through cases, we record and manage all preventative and corrective actions needed to again ensure that our clients are being served as they expect. We hold that ideal as an integral part of our culture at ABS. Everyone at ABS from laboratory to sales to the front office all hold this quintessential mindset for achieving continual improvement to achieve our mission.
Through our Quality Management System, we are able to adapt to our client’s changing needs or scale to a higher level of production with ease. We require that everyone has a back up for each procedure they perform which covers any vulnerabilities that could exist. Since achievement of the ISO 9001 certification in 2012, we have been able to completely transform our processes and continual improvement projects.
